FAQ:  How does heat affect my granite countertops?  Are Granite Countertops heat resistant?

Granite countertops are very heat resistant and unlikely to burn or scorch.  However, extreme temperatures can cause thermal shock or cracks to occur in the countertop.  It is recommended that you protect your kitchen granite countertops or grilling areas by using trivets or hot pads.
